Podiatry
A request for podiatry treatment should be made by completing a Podiatry referral form or by phoning 01942 483483 with a list of your medication and the referral can be completed by the admin team for you.
This can be completed on behalf of the patient by other health care professionals.
Assessment appointments will only be sent to those people who have met the access criteria. Treating minor foot problems and nail care in the healthy individual is no longer the role of the NHS Podiatrist.

Maternity Self Referral Form
All new antenatal referrals to WWL’s Maternity Services will be via an online referral form, which enables direct booking of care.

Wigan Talking Therapies
Wigan Talking Therapies offers free NHS therapy for people registered with a Wigan GP with common mental health problems like anxiety or low mood, to help you change the way you feel by changing the way you think.
Our service is for adults aged 16 and over with common mental health problems like mild to moderate depression, anxiety and stress. We can help with other problems like panic attacks, phobias and post-traumatic stress disorder.
We are also able to help if you’re experiencing symptoms of low mood, anxiety or depression linked to a long-term physical health condition, pregnancy or being a primary carer for an infant under the age of two.

Drug and alcohol service
‘We are with you’ provides free, confidential service and talk to one of their trained staff.
They’ll work with you on your own goals, whether that’s cutting down your drug or alcohol use, stopping completely or just getting a bit of advice.

Adult MSK Physio Self-Referral
You can refer yourself for physiotherapy without visiting your GP first by visiting Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust website to complete the form online. to complete a Physio Self Referral Form

- Changes in your bladder and bowel habits.
- A hot swollen joint.
- Constant severe pain and you are unable to find relief.
- Weakness, pins and needles, loss of feeling.
- History of cancer
